Description of the Event/Objective:
SRMIST, FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY, Campus Life organized Awareness Workshop on Menstrual Health and Hygiene (Promoting Menstrual Health and Wellbeing). Menstrual health is a vital aspect of reproductive health, yet stigma and lack of access to resources continue to affect millions of girls and women worldwide. Our awareness campaign aims to:
Normalize open conversations about menstruation
Improve access to affordable and quality sanitary products
Educate communities on healthy menstrual practices

Ms. Kumudhini Manivannan
(Founder of World’s First Ultimate Uterus Protecting Technologies – Green Safe Sanitary Pads)
About the Speaker:
Ms. Kumudhini Manivannan is a pioneer in women’s health innovations, having created the world’s first ultimate uterus protecting technology. Her Green Safe sanitary pads are designed to provide comfort, safety, and sustainability. She’s on a mission to empower women through awareness and safe health practices.
Event Proceedings:
2:00 PM – Inauguration and Introductory Session
Welcome address by Dr. M. Saravanan, HOD (i/c), Department of Physics. Dr. S. Subhashini, Vice Principal (Academics) felicitated the gathering. Dr. Monicka V., Asst. Prof., Department of Biotechnology introduced the resource person. This session highlighted the importance of women’s health and hygiene, especially for girl students. The workshop aimed to raise awareness about hygienic wellness.
2:35 PM – Expert Session:
The resource person, Ms. Kumudhini Manivannan, known for introducing the world’s first ultimate uterus-protecting technology through the ‘Care n Safe’ sanitary pad, delivered an informative session. She discussed the value of uterine health, menstrual cleanliness, and the role of safe sanitary products in fostering overall wellness. Ms. Kumudhini Manivannan shared insights into modern sanitary products and their benefits, emphasizing the importance of educating young women about hygienic wellbeing.
3:15 PM – Interactive Discussion and Q&A:
After the presentation, there was an interactive discussion where students asked questions about menstrual hygiene, sanitary product usage, and overall wellbeing.
Ms. Kumudhini Manivannan provided practical advice, stressing the importance of following proper hygiene procedures.
3:30 PM – Conclusion:
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Ms. Srinarayani, AP, CSE, recognizing Ms. Kumudhini Manivannan’s valuable insights and thanking the participants for their engagement. Dr. Thangam, AP, ECE, and Dr. R. S. Priyadharshini, AP, Physics collected feedback from the attendees. 140 girl students from all departments have participated and gave good feedback about the workshop.
