SUMMARY OF THE EVENT:
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, organized an insightful Alumni Talk on October 23, 2024 at block V, Gallery Hall 1. The distinguished alumnus from the 2022 batch, Mr. B.P. Raman, M.S. from the University of Windsor and Mr. Sabarish Subramani. S.R, M.S. from the University of Minnesota gave a talk on Documentation, Rhetoric, and Current Affairs.
The sessions started with a welcome address and a brief introduction to the event and speakers by Dr. Lathamanju. Mr. B.P. Raman briefed the students on ways to improve the skill sets required for placements, presentation skills, and the importance of professional connection. Mr. B.P. Raman also discussed on how to document the projects, research papers, and patents.
Mr. Sabarish enlightened the students on how to prepare for the master’s degree, the guidelines for choosing the university, and the curriculum the university offers before taking up admission. He encouraged the students to actively participate in more project competitions and other co-curricular activities that add more value to the profile.
The speakers also shared their experiences and the wonderful journey they had at SRM as students and also offered the students practical advice on time management and resource utilization during their preparation phase for higher studies and placements.
The sessions were highly interactive, with ECE students actively participating and asking questions about the M.S. programs and the admission procedures.
