Summary of the Event:
The BioNexus Club of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, SRM Institute
of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, successfully organized an engaging and
interactive event titled “Act It, Crack It!” on 1st April 2026 at Block III, 4th
Floor, Room 403, from 12:20 PM to 1:20 PM. The event aimed to enhance
students’ creativity, observation skills, quick thinking, teamwork, and
communication through fun and challenging activities.
The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Ushus S. Kumar, Head of the
Department (HOD – BME), with the support of faculty coordinators Dr. Pushpa B
(AP/BME) and Dr. R. Indhumathi (AP/BME). The event was organized with the
efforts of student coordinator S. Shreya (III Year) and event coordinators H.
Sumera Begum (III Year) and S. Bhanu Padmini (II Year), ensuring smooth
execution of all activities.
Students actively participated with great enthusiasm, making the event lively and
engaging. The program provided a platform for participants to showcase their
creativity and teamwork in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. E-certificates
were awarded to all participants in recognition of their involvement.
Concept and Design of the Event:
The event was designed to encourage creative expression, quick thinking, and
effective communication through interactive and entertaining rounds. It focused on
non-verbal communication, interpretation, and spontaneous responses, allowing
participants to explore different ways of expressing and understanding ideas.
The structure of the event included rounds that required participants to act,
observe, interpret, and respond within a limited time. Each activity was designed to
challenge cognitive abilities while maintaining a fun and inclusive atmosphere.
By combining creativity with teamwork-based challenges, the event promoted
active participation and collaboration among students. It also provided an
opportunity for participants to step out of their comfort zones and engage in
experiential learning.
Round 1: Reverse Charades
The first round, Reverse Charades, introduced an innovative twist to the traditional
charades format. In this round, a group of participants from each team acted out a
given word or phrase together, while a single team member was responsible for
guessing the correct answer.
This round required a high level of coordination and teamwork, as multiple
participants had to synchronize their actions to convey a clear message. The
guesser, on the other hand, had to carefully observe and interpret the actions within
a limited time frame. This created an exciting and dynamic interaction between
team members.
Participants displayed creativity and enthusiasm as they used gestures, expressions,
and movements to communicate ideas. The activity emphasized the importance of
non-verbal communication and collective effort. It also helped improve
observation skills and the ability to quickly interpret visual cues.
The round was both entertaining and challenging, keeping participants actively
engaged while also encouraging them to think and act creatively. Overall, Reverse
Charades successfully highlighted the significance of teamwork, coordination, and
effective communication.
Round 2: Guess the Gibberish
The second round, Guess the Gibberish, provided participants with a fun yet
intellectually stimulating challenge. In this round, phrases or words were presented
in a distorted or seemingly meaningless form, and participants had to decode and
identify the correct phrase within a given time limit.
This activity required sharp observation, logical reasoning, and quick thinking.
Participants had to analyze patterns, identify familiar sounds or word structures,
and interpret them accurately. The challenge encouraged participants to think
beyond conventional approaches and explore creative ways of problem-solving.
The round was highly engaging, as it combined elements of fun and mental
challenge. Participants showed great enthusiasm as they attempted to decode the
gibberish phrases, often leading to moments of excitement and laughter.
Through this activity, participants enhanced their cognitive flexibility,
interpretation skills, and ability to process information quickly. It also improved
their attention to detail and strengthened their problem-solving abilities
The key outcomes included:
- Enhanced creativity and imaginative thinking abilities
- Improved observation, interpretation, and analytical skills
- Strengthened teamwork and coordination among participants
- Development of quick thinking and effective decision-making skills
- Improved verbal and non-verbal communication abilities
- Increased confidence in expressing ideas and participating in group activities
The event played a significant role in fostering both personal and interpersonal
development among students by integrating fun with meaningful skill
enhancement.
Reflections and Impact:
The “Act It, Crack It!” event received highly positive feedback from
participants, who appreciated its innovative concept and interactive
execution. Students found the event refreshing, as it provided a break
from routine academic activities while still contributing to their overall
development.
The Reverse Charades round was particularly appreciated for its
emphasis on teamwork and coordination. Participants enjoyed working
together to act out ideas, which helped strengthen their collaborative
skills and understanding of non-verbal communication. It also
encouraged participants to think creatively and express ideas through
actions rather than words.
The Guess the Gibberish round was equally impactful, as it challenged
participants’ cognitive abilities and required quick interpretation of
complex patterns. Students found this round both fun and mentally
stimulating, as it pushed them to think differently and approach
problems creatively.
The time-bound nature of both rounds added an element of excitement
and urgency, motivating participants to stay focused and perform
efficiently. The event also promoted strong peer interaction, allowing
students to engage with one another, share ideas, and learn from
different perspectives.
Many participants reported increased confidence in expressing
themselves and participating in group activities. The friendly and
supportive environment helped reduce hesitation and stage fear,
encouraging students to actively take part without fear of judgment.
Overall, the event created a positive and memorable experience,
successfully combining entertainment with meaningful learning. It left a
lasting impact by enhancing participants’ creativity, communication, and
cognitive abilities.
