The 76th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor on 15th August, 2022 at SRM Institute of Science and Technology Ramapuram Campus in OAT with the staff and students.
On this special occasion, the programme started with flag hoisting by our Chief Direct Dr. Sethuraman along with Director, Deans and Vice Principals of various Institution of SRMIST, Ramapuram Campus. The Chief Director addressed the gathering appealing to their nationalistic spirit and urging them to take pride in being an Indian and fulfilling one’s duty with responsibility. He also emphasized the role of youth today as the true wealth of a country. Followed by Chief Director, Director Dr. Subbiah Bharathi emphasized the students to remember all the unseen heroes of each family who have participated in freedom struggle. Dean E &T Dr. Murali Krishna motivated the students to invent new technologies for the growth of the country. Deans of various institutions also addressed the students regarding Independence Day. The students are participated various activities such as *Essay Writing”, “Group Songs” and “Poster Presentations” on different theme. The participants and winners are appreciated and certificate will be given to them.
This was followed by a cultural program which consists of patriotic songs, dance and speech that awakened everyone’s feelings towards the motherland. The students also flew tricolored flags to commemorate the occasion. Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day to love and respect to our country and makes it a better place for Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.
